Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps 1924

The 1924 Sanborn Map of the Willett Center Site shows both changes and not. The Stanwix Hall Hotel, the Mansion House, and the Saulpaugh Block remain as they have since 1888. The Carroll Theater has become the Strand Theater, and the bank has been built on the corner. The livery and buggy sheds behind the hotels have been replaced by automobile storage, or garages. The tow path at the very bottom of the map shows that the Erie Canal was still there, even if it was no longer actively used for trade.
